Copper scrubbing pads are commonly used as packing material for pot or reflux stills to reduce the number of sulfur compounds (sulfides) in distilled spirits. The scrubbers are made from pure lead-free copper. The surface area of scrubbers works well to create reflux in a column still. They can also be used in a pot still if they can be held in place in the spirit path before the condenser.
Copper scrub pads are great for cleaning stainless steel brewing and distilling equipment as well.
